Special Abilities

Throughout the events of Cosmo Voyage, some of the crew members of the original ship (The USS Venture) were granted special elemental powers. There is also an ongoing project to outfit the rest of the crew members with exo suits to enhance their natural abilities.

About the abilities

Elemental Powers

Metal

  • Gives the user the ability to manipulate metals within a certain range
  • A master of the metal ability is not a replacement for machined parts


Electricity

  • Gives the user the ability to manipulate and control electricity within their range
  • Cannot create infinite electricity


Machine

  • A machine user has an internal cache of nanobots that can create machines of various complexity
  • The user must keep up their population of nanobots as machines created that leave their range become permanent


Galactic

  • A user of the Galactic ability can create linked portals within their range
  • A grim user also has the ability to make a pocket dimension, no living things can be stored in there and time does not pass inside the pocket dimension


Grim

  • The grim ability is caused by twins consisting of two parts, the ghost and the body
  • The body has no elemental abilities, but has super strength to a lesser extent than the body ability
  • The ghost has two elemental abilities, but is a glass cannon
  • If either the ghost or the body die, both die


Body

  • Beings with the body ability have incredible strength and fortitude, but no external elemental ability


Fire

  • A user with the fire ability is able to manipulate and control fire within their range
  • Metals forged with elemental fire offer improved strength, but lose integrity with every reforge


Water

  • A user of the water ability is able to manipulate and control water within their range, including ice


Earth

  • Someone with the earth ability can manipulate rocks, grass, and plant matter within their range
  • They can make plants grow, but if they leave their survivability will depend on the environment around them


Illusion

  • A user with the illusion ability can manipulate light, shadows, and sound around them
  • Light based illusions will weaken and disappear in shadows, and vice versa


Exo Suits

After the USS Hertz was destroyed, a new project started on the USS Trivago. This project was designed to give the unpowered beings on the crew enhancements to their natural talents and abilities. The user must undergo a surgery to implement a neural bridge that allows them to connect to their exo suit. Each exo suit is designed around the user and each one is unique because of that.

Magic Sickness

Magic sickness is a rare condition where the host body becomes "sick" with unique attributes in each case. These attributes vary from being unable to smell flowers to infinite growth (Ex. Huge Reg), while it is technically possible to cure magic sickness, the side effects of curing it are unique to each situation. In some cases it goes away without issue, in others it can cause age reversal, disfiguration, or even death.
